Welcome to Memento Box!

Helping Oban’s young people realise their hopes for 2021

Memento Box comes out of H2O’s Stars of Hope Project - a collaborative project between H2O, local primary schools and local businesses. The project saw vacant shop fronts in Oban’s main streets decorated with stars made by the town’s primary school children. On the back of the 3D stars were written the young people’s hopes for the coming year.

Memento Box takes these hopes and explores them further. Through monthly craft projects, young people will fill their memento box with objects that help them remember the hope they have for this year.

Leading the young people via a digital curriculum, H2O are exploring issues like identity, community and environmentalism. Monthly videos guide the young people and their teachers through a variety of crafts and activities, unpacking the themes whilst having fun and making crafts at the same time.

As the project continues, this page will become an exhibition space for some of the crafts made along the way. So check back regularly to keep up to date.
