The Lock-In

H2O’S OVERNIGHT YOUTH CLUB

A night to remember!

Hello!
Thank you for your interest in H2O and in our infamous Lock-In event. H2O is a community-run youth-work charity based in Oban. For over 20 years we’ve served the young people of North Argyll by helping to meet their physical, emotional, social and spiritual. And, tell you what - we’ve had a huge amount of FUN along the way!

Not least among it all have been our annual Lock-In events. The premise is simple: we take over Oban’s community-run health and leisure centre Atlantis Leisure for a night, fill it with that year’s S1 intake from Oban High School and have an action-packed night of activity, fun and capers lasting from 9pm to 7am. It’s fantastic.

Over the years, generations of S1’s have attended their Lock-In, with many still talking about how it helped to shape and form their teenage years by settling them into high school, widening their social circle within their yeargroup literally overnight and helping to build their confidence and resilience as a result. For many of the young folks with us, this will be their first time away from home on their own. It’s a big deal.

We need a hand!

The Lock-In relies on a team of volunteers to make it the success that it is. We would LOVE to hear from you if you and your mates fancy helping out this year.

This year’s Lock-In is taking place on Friday the 27th October. You absolutely do not have to sign-up to the whole night, even an hour’s help at any stage of the evening is a huge boost. We even have some faithful friends that just come in early morning to help sweep up and tidy the Centre.
